"Always
check the cables!"
- Boudreaux Goes to Paris - about 2.5 minutes
Via YouTube -
Produced May 11, 2007, using an unedited MP3 recording
from a telephone call in January, 2004 with David
Boudreaux of Nicholls State University.
There are several easy, legal ways to record telephone
calls (e.g., RadioShack gizmos; Skype + Skylook
software). LecShare Pro + PowerPoint + audio
recording easily, rapidly produces a variety of formats
(see below) including mpeg4, which can be uploaded
easily, quickly, and free to
YouTube! - where almost
anyone can "play" it. Can become part of a
YouTube
"channel" - essentially a video podcast (vodcast?)
including use of an RSS feed subscription. |

"The Last Day of Class"
- Todd Zakrajsek, CMU
- about 5 minutes
Need QuickTime or similar player. Video recording.
Lots of very specific suggestions in a very short time.
Is this use of a "talking head" justified by the quality
of the sound, voice, and - especially - the content?
What could have enhanced it? |

Lee LeFever,
The Common Craft Show
- VERY CLEVER "anti-PowerPoint" charm!! How well would
this work if it were the 10th example in two days using
the same technique? How much work, time went into
writing, producing, editing?

"Attending
Genocide Conference" - about 4.5
minutes
Kathleen Young
et al., Anthropology Dept., Western Wash. Univ.
This was one of the first, and most provocative,
responses to my request for examples of "clips"
4/12/2007. It is embedded in a Website and related
"portfolio" of materials (including student essays both
text and photographic) that provide an excellent model
for one way to extend the possibilities of a brief eClip.
Please don't be intimidated by the exceptional quality
of this example. |
