Audio Clip Sources

Desired Criteria

Goal:  Help people find, use Web-accessible audio eClips - respectfully, ethically, legally, and practically. Provide brief list of some audio clip sources that are BOTH easily searchable AND reliable in producing only clips that can be used with confidence that we are doing so respectfully, legally, inexpensively.

We're looking for sources that are searchable:
1. Content
By topic, content, key words, etc.

**AND**

2. Only Audio Files
Limited to getting only results that are audio files

**AND**

3. Permission Clearly Available
Limited to results that include clear indication that you will have the kind of permission needed to use the clip in a PowerPoint slideshow, in a face-to-face classroom presentation, in a live Web-based broadcast - legally, respectfully, technologically, …

**AND**

4. No/Low Cost
Without paying any fee at all (or without paying a prohibitive one-time fee or without committing to paying a continuing fee that might never end).

Audio Mysteries
Voices (and certain other sounds) must be heard

*Click on each of these "Audio Mysteries" in turn and listen to the sound.

How long does it take you to recognize the source or significance of each of these familiar sounds?  Why and how can we identify these sounds so quickly and certainly?  Why do remarkably expensive and well-constructed computer-animated movies still rely on well-known actors for the voices?

Click here AFTER you try some of these for the answers (and sources).
