Queries for Discussion, Why BHWs?  (Why BHTLMs?):  Queries for Discussion

Rationale/Purpose/Context
Small Steps, Training Wheels, A Few Good Options:
Some Assembly Required, DIY

Remember, an eClip is not a BHW… but it can be a VERY important part of one!

I've never been opposed to our stuff looking/acting better quality …. but that is only so long as we are still able to show/tell people HOW we do SOME of our stuff in ways that are inexpensive and easy for most folks… just fine if we ourselves (and some of the recipients of our guidance and wisdom) move along to more advanced tools for purposes that require or benefit greatly from them.

  • Why Small Steps, BHWs?

  • Why now? (More needed, more feasible)

  • Depend on judgment and commitment of individuals (faculty members, academic support professionals, students)

Training Wheels (A Few Good Options) & Big Picture

Why Training Wheels?
Why A Few Good Options

Why get the big picture first?
Because the big picture is transferable!

Sequence

  • Get a sample, think about the elements and options, then get the big picture.

  • See one, do one, teach one

  • See one, do one, adapt/improve one, assemble one, run one, develop one

Low-Threshold Approach
The TLT Group is committed to finding, developing, sharing, and publishing Brief Hybrid Workshops that reflect our longstanding work with LTAs - applications and activities that are reliable, accessible, easy to learn, non-intimidating and (incrementally) inexpensive.  And we are committed to advocating and demonstrating how to use low-threshold Brief Hybrid Workshops to help others design, produce, use, and improve BHWs.
