Please Personalize - Within Limits - and Set Limits

<see below the line for possible additional text - swg 20080521>

The TLT Group encourages you to modify each BHW/BHTLM to better fit your own purposes, limitations, and gifts, and to include attribution to, but not endorsement by, the TLT Group, Inc.  Further, the TLT Group encourages you to do the same for those who might build on your work - on your own BHWs/BHTLMs.  Indicate clearly what kinds of modifications you encourage and what you do not want changed for subsequent use.

"Personalize" can also mean that the leader(s) or facilitator(s) of this BHW (or BHTLM) include information or media elements that give participants a closer view of them as individual human beings.  "Personalize" can also mean that participants are encouraged to explain or reveal information about themselves.  The developer, producer, leader, or facilitator of a BHW (or BHTLM) should be intentional and clear in setting and acknowledging appropriate boundaries between professional and personal behavior.  Of course, these boundaries may vary for the institution(s) and culture(s) in which this BHW or BHTLM is being used.

Preface - Use these instructions as is - or adapt them

These instructions are offered with the expectation that some groups will use them as is, but that other groups may prefer to adapt this Brief Hybrid Workshop to fit their own needs and conditions.

In general, several different brief hybrid workshops could use the same eClip as their core preparatory activity.  Some alternative workshops could be developed by finding or creating different related Web-based or paper resources and adapting the eClip.  Other workshops could result solely from modifying the instructions to participants - by changing the structure of the original workshop, changing the conditions and media used for interaction, etc. - while still using the same eClip and related Web-based resources.
