“We are establishing a fund within the Nicholls Foundation to
assist students with the purchase of books, room, and board. We have waived all
other tuition and fees for visiting students.
“Anyone wanting to assist college and university students who have literally
lost almost everything (homes, cars, computers, books, clothing, etc) can make a
donation to the NSU Foundation, student relief fund. Every contribution will go
to assisting students to return to school this semester. The state of Louisiana
is waiving tuition and academic fees for all students who were enrolled in a New
Orleans area state university or college, and Nicholls has already enrolled a
significant number. Additionally, almost 1000 of our students come from that
area, and they have lost a great deal. These students need help to pay for
dorms, books, food, and clothing. (For the record, students from Nicholls, the
University of New Orleans, Delgado, Nunez, Tulane, and Xavier, at a minimum,
will be able to benefit from this fund, which is housed in the Nicholls
Foundation).
“Please write a check to the NSU Foundation and include in the comment section
“Student Relief.”
Checks should be mailed to:

“All gifts will be properly acknowledged and receipted for tax purposes.
“I assure you that every penny will go to that account and that each donor will
receive a proper acknowledgement.
“Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers.
“I understand that this is an unusual request. But this is a situation the likes
of which this nation has never seen. If you can provide any help with
disseminating this information, I will deeply appreciate it
“Thank you so much.
Warm regards to all.
