ARQ Module: What Points Are Clear? Muddy?

Handbook and Other Materials l Asking the Right Questions (ARQ) l Training, Consulting, & External EvaluationFAQ

List of ARQ Modules l ARQ Home Page

This course research is sometimes called "muddly points", sometimes a "minute paper."  This version of the form is for use online, but it can also be used (in many variations) face-to-face.

  1. Have students fill out the form (daily? weekly?).

  2. Sort answers, like with like.  Are any topics or issues coming up repeatedly, for each student over time, and across students?

  3. For each issue, which part of the analysis-and-response is your responsibility to initiate? Which parts should be analyzed by the students? working alone on their own issues? working together to suggest a response for an issue that has been a problem for many students?
