1. You and others at your CSI-licensed institution may only use the
CSI as often as you like, for as many years as you like, but only for studies
of students within a CSI-licensed Institution. In order to use the CSI to gather information from people who are
not current or former students of a CSI-licensed institution, you must receive
written permission from the TLT Group.
For example,
if you are at one campus and wish to do a study of all students in the system
of which your campus is a part, and if one or more campuses in your system have
not licensed the CSI, you must first acquire a separate license for this
study. This study license is available for a separate fee, in addition to or
instead of the standard license fee; the fee may be more or less than the
standard site license fee, depending on the scope and numbers of studies you
intend to do.
2. You may make copies of the CSI and
distribute such copies to any faculty, staff or student at Your Institution, provided
such persons agree to use the CSI only in accordance with the terms of this
Site License. You may not give away,
sell or otherwise distribute the CSI to anyone who is not faculty, staff or
student at Your Institution. Without
limiting the foregoing, you may not give away, sell or otherwise distribute the
CSI to a Non-Licensed Institution.
3. You may post the CSI on Your Institution's
Intranet, provided that only faculty, staff and students at Your Institution
can access it. You may not post the CSI
on the Internet or other publicly available online service.
4. You may publish studies that append the
survey or interview protocols you created and used based on the CSI, but you
may not publish any items from the CSI that were not included in such surveys
or interview protocols. In addition, in
any and all such published studies, you must acknowledge your use of the CSI
and the funding of the Annenberg/CPB Project, e.g., by including in your
article or rept that "the survey instrument was created with the aid of
the Flashlight Current Student Inventory, an evaluation tool kit that was
developed with the aid of funding from the Annenberg/CPB Project.
5.
Primary contact: Each CSI-licensed institution must identify a primary contact
on the registration form. The
institution is responsible for notifying the TLT Group when information on the
primary contact changes (e.g. the person's e-mail address changes, a new
contact is named). The primary contact
person will receive all update information, and is responsible for transmitting
this information to other Flashlight users at the institution. The TLT Group will ask the contact person
from time to time about findings from, and problems with, Flashlight use.
TERMINATION:
This
Site License will automatically terminate if you commit a material breach of
this Site License. Any use of the CSI
after such termination shall be deemed to be copyright infringement.
