Schedule of Online Workshops and Webinars

The TLT Group’s Flashlight Program has offered hundreds of talks and workshops, ranging from recorded 5-minute summary of crucial ideas to multi-day workshops. We also offer a wide variety of webcasts and online workshops.

We're now also developing a workshop program to help academic staff learn how to collect evidence from their own students in order to improve teaching and learning with technology in their own courses. It's called "Asking the Right Questions (ARQ)."   We can come to your campus to train your staff to run ARQ workshops (each of which is extremely short, 5-20 minutes, in order to fit into busy schedules).  Your staff can also sign up for online training in how to run ARQ workshops. (If you're learning to use Flashlight Online, as an author or administrator, click here to use our online tutorials.)

We also have considerable experience designing and offering workshops to fit specific institutional or programmatic needs. here are just a few examples of past Flashlight workshops:

  • University of Massachusetts system - Steve Ehrmann gave a keynote address to a system workshop on the implications of technology for assessment.
  • University of Queensland, Australia - TLT Group staff and senior consultants participated as members of the planning team for a half-day workshop to help the University community consider next steps with ePortfolios.
  • Valencia Community College - assessment training for faculty in Title III and Title V grant
  • Iowa College Foundation summer conferences - talks and workshops about evaluation and assessment
  • Bethune-Cookman University: faculty workshop on fundamentals of evaluation, co-led by Steve Ehrmann (TLT Group) and Frank Parker, Senior Associate from Johnson C. Smith University.
  • University of Minnesota: workshop on evaluation for faculty who'd received mini-grants from the University to use technology in innovative ways in teaching; the terms of the mini-grant required that the faculty member evaluate the innovation and attendance was excellent.
  • Helping develop assessment materials for online instructional program in Distance Education Instructional Design.  We developed content and offered instruction in this online certificate program to train instructional designers.
  • EDUCAUSE – Developed or co-developed many of the materials for the National Learning Infrastructure Initiative’s work on transformative assessment. (NLII has since been renamed the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative.)
  • PT3 Now video series – Steve Ehrmann provided insights on evaluation and technology in this video series aimed at school teachers. Click here to see hours of streaming videos.
  • University of South Carolina: hands-on workshop for faculty on rudiments of survey design for course improvement.
  • University of Wisconsin, Madison.  Steve Ehrmann served as a fellow with the NSF-funded National Institute of Science Education (NISE), developing evaluation tools and materials.
