  • Accreditation: Are you doing a special project (e.g., QEP, AQIP)?
  • Working on the evaluation of a grant-funded project?
  • Working harder on quality assurance for your distance learning program?
  • Evaluating the pilot test of a new technology such as 'clickers' or a learning management system, before deciding whether to deploy it more widely?
  • Evaluating a new learning space, or an old one before planning a renovation?
  • Benchmarking health care services across your region?Deciding how to move forward with ePortfolios?
  • Supporting development of faculty learning communities? The scholarship of teaching and learning?

Matrix surveys provide a unique advantage for all these kinds of inquiry. Suppose, for example, you want to check on the educational value of student response systems (or learning communities, or writing assignments) across a whole institution.  Matrix surveys enable you to ask the right questions, with the right wording, for each different group of students, even though each group is doing different things, and using different language to describe what they do.

We can develop a matrix survey tailored to your needs, and help you analyze the data as well. In the process, we'll prepare your colleagues to develop their own matrix surveys in the future.  If you're still preparing your plan and budget, now is the time to talk with us. We can help with both.

Email us at flashlight @ tltgroup.org. Describe your situation, and let's talk.  If your institution or agency is already a TLT Group subscriber, we may be able to do the work with you at no extra charge, using your prepaid consulting time.

Warning: Be prepared to attract a little attention from folks who want to learn from what you've done!
