Online Workshop: Flashlight Online 2.0

The TLT Group offers periodic workshops on how to use Flashlight Online 2.0. Details vary but ordinarily the sequence consists of two hour-long sessions, online and about a week apart.

In session 1, participants are briefed on the features of the system while being led through the creation of a simple survey. If you are registering for a session, and would like to see a particular type of survey created in your workshop (e.g., something you could use afterward), please email flashlight@tltgroup.org at least a few days in advance.

Between sessions, participants are encouraged to create a simple survey of their own.  Flashlight Online makes it easy to share work (in a manner similar to Google Documents) so each participant can see the work of others, along with surveys made available by the workshop leader.

In session 2, the leader usually demonstrates how to create a matrix survey, tailoring questions and the wording of text for each group of respondents. Other advanced features can be demonstrated at this time (e.g., using Flashlight Online for student course evaluation).  If you have preferences for specific demonstrations, email flashlight@tltgroup.org at least a week or two in advance if possible, since your request may require us to line up a guest presenter. We do try to tailor these sessions to your needs, if you give us time to prepare.

If schedules don't mesh, you may want to watch a recording of a previous online workshop.  For these and other resources for learning to use Flashlight Online productively, go to our training1 page.
