Purpose: Information Literacy - by almost any name and any definition - is more important than ever for undergraduate education. Brief Hybrid Workshops (BHWs) can be used to encourage and enable faculty, librarians, IT professionals and other academic leaders to work together to advance Information Literacy at their own colleges and universities. BHWs offer a way of building and assembling new kinds of resources based on the 10 Categories offered in ACRL's "Characteristics of Programs of Information Literacy that Illustrate Best Practices: A Guideline" developed by the Best Practices Initiative - and the work of ACRL's Institute for Information Literacy. This work builds on the excellent Best Practices in Information Literacy Project of ACRL, but is not authorized or approved in any way by ACRL. |
