Log-In Instructions
[Setting up or using your own individual LearningTimes Network registration.]
Step 1 - Log in to LearningTimes

Go to the LearningTimes Network by clicking here:

>where you will find two options:

  1. If you already know your LearningTimes username and password, just click on "Login," enter those two terms, and you will be logged in to the LearningTimes TLT Group Online Workspace!
     
  2. If you do not yet have a LearningTimes account, click on "Join"  and then follow the instructions to establish your account and record your username and password where you will be able to find and remember them next time!  Please create a user name that will enable colleagues to recognize who you are easily when they can only see that "username."

Technical Requirements - PREPARATION (sound & Elluminate software)

Sound

  • Speakers or headphones attached to your computer (so you can hear session audio)
  • A computer microphone attached to your computer is required for speaking.

Using Elluminate
[Virtual Classroom]

  • Minimum PC Requirements
    Pentium II 266 Mhz with 64MB of memory and a sound card.
  • Minimum Mac Requirements
    G3 233 Mhz with 64MB of memory when using OS 9.0-9.2 or 128MB of memory when using OS X.
  • Downloads
    When you log in for the first time, you may be prompted to download Sun Microsystem's Java Web Start (or OpenJNLP for Mac), a pre-requisite for using Elluminate's vClass. You only need to do this fully the first time you use the virtual classroom.

  • Testing Readiness for Elluminate

    ou can test your configuration at:
    http://www.elluminate.com/support/
    The screen should tell you whether you have the required software installed.  If you do, you're all set.  If you don't, follow the link to download and install Java Web Start.

Elluminate Support Services Available online, including documentation, troubleshooting "wizard," etc.

Participating in a "Virtual Classroom" - online synchronous events.  Specifically:  Elluminate via LTN.  [Please go thru the "PREPARATION" steps listed in the column to the right at least 24 hours prior to the event so that you will discover any problems and have time to get the necessary help!]

Log-in Instructions for Virtual Classroom
Step 2 - Log in to
Elluminate Classroom

at least 15 minutes before
the scheduled starting time for the event.

[See "B." below for use of one of the TLT Group's Virtual Offices]

A.  If you have received a special URL for this event (i.e., a URL which will take your browser directly to the appropriate Virtual Office within the LearningTimes Network workspace) then first click on that URL.  Next you will be required to insert your username and password.  Then click on the "login" button.  Then click on the "Enter Now" button! ...wait patiently for the necessary downloads and you will be in!  [Click on "yes" or "OK" or anything positive/receptive during this process.]

B.  To use one of the TLT Group's Virtual Offices

After logging in to your account in the LearningTimes TLT Group Online Workspace:

  • Click on “Virtual Offices” on the left of the page.  Wait until the next page appears.
  • Click  on “Steve Gilbert’s Virtual Office.”  Wait until the next page appears.  
  • Click on “Enter Now.”  [You may be prompted to download a tool, if you have NOT already done so.  Please follow the instructions.]
  • If all works well, in a few minutes you will be logged in to the appropriate Virtual Classroom!

After clicking on the preceding URL, you will have to log in to the LearningTimes online community.  Then you should find your browser showing the recording of the session.  TO INITIATE PLAYBACK once inside the vClass interface, click the triangular play button at the top left of the vClass window as indicated here: After clicking the Enter Now button above and entering the vClass area, click triangular Play button to begin playback of the recordingor choose "play" from the vClass "File" menu.  Note: Once inside the archive playback area, for the best audio quality, you may want to wait for the blue bar at the bottom to fully load before clicking the start button.
