Welcome! Our online events work best when both presenter/leaders
and participants have prepared in advance - best, more than
24 hours in advance! Please review the questions and
answers below. Also, please
take the time to read a letter to you from the TLT Group
Staff.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact
Lisa Star.
Thank you for your participation in the Online Institute!
Frequently Asked Questions:
How
long does each session usually last? The sessions last one hour.
Some sessions are followed by a live chat discussion
either directly following the event or the following day.
You will be notified of this or it will be advertised in
the description of the workshop.
How do I view the sessions? Each
session is
hosted online through your web
browser. We recommend Internet Explorer for this event.
Because TLT Group Online Institute workshops are designed
for high interaction for each participant, we recommend
that you use your personal computer for the session. You
will need speakers and the ability to hear sound through
your computer for all online events. A microphone is
highly recommended, but not required. Also visit our
Technical Options and
Requirements for more info.
How do I
get materials for the
webcasts?
You will receive materials via
email before, during and after the event. All of the
resources can be accessed online. This is why we ask for
your email address during registration.
Are the events
archived?
We record an archive of
every session which can be viewed through your browser at
any time from your computer following the webcast. We
recommend Internet Explorer in most cases. There is no CD
copy of the event.
How many
people can attend if I register? The cost of the workshop is
priced per person, but you are very welcome to share the
information with faculty at your institution. If you are
registering more than one person from the same institution,
the TLT Group tries to offer a discount to your institution.
What
happens after I register? You will
get a confirmation webpage that tells you your registration
has been sent to us. If you see any errors, such as with
your email address, click on your back button in your
browser and resubmit your registration. You will not be
charged twice if you've submitted your credit card info.
Then, one week before the event, you will get an email
telling you how to access to webcast.
Why
don't I see my charge on my card right away?
Often times, people register for events
as members of co-sponsoring organizations. The TLT Group
checks with each organization to be sure you are an active
member. We do not process your info until we get that
confirmation. Because this may take a few days, you may see
a delay in the charge.
How do
I get a receipt? The TLT Group is a very small
non-profit organization, and we try to cut down on as many
steps for each workshop as possible. Your receipt is the
confirmation webpage that comes up after you submit your
registration. If you need an invoice from the TLT Group,
that can be arranged but may take several weeks. Please let
us know when you register if you would like a receipt in the
additional comments area. Again, this usually takes several
weeks.
When
do I find out about where to access the webcast?
An email will be sent to the email address
you provide one week before the workshop begins. If you have
registered less than one week before the workshop, you may
not get an email until a day before or the day of, due to
registration processing.
The
registration page says it is secure, but it does not appear
secure in my browser. Is it really secure? Our Internet
Service Provider has secured our entire website through
GeoTrust. If you would like to view your page as secure in
your browser, add an 's' to the http:// part of the web
address, so it looks like https:// You will see the lock
icon appear in the lower right hand corner of your browser.
This works for most secured websites.
