Not-Quite-Assignment  for Online Workshop Pilot June 1-9, 2005
Dangerous Discussions - Class Size
John Sener, Cindy Russell, Steve Gilbert

1.  WANT/NEED:  Identify (describe) issues/situations for which you want help/collaborators.

a.  Overconscientious Teachers
Teachers being “overconscientious” and setting requirements that demand too much of themselves and/or their students.

E.g.,  Misuse of online tools by requiring too frequent interaction … requiring every student to respond to two questions per week on a Web-based threaded discussion board with the expectation that the teacher will read and grade all student contributions and respond to most of them within the same day they were made.

b.  Your Alternative
(
Click here to add your alternative as comment to the DDClassSize blog.)

2.  PROVIDE/HELP:  Describe what has been working well at your institution or in your experience in response to this issue/situation.
(Click here to add as comment to the DDClassSize blog your brief description of a useful option - please include contact info for getting more information about it. )
