TLTR = Teaching, Learning, and Technology Roundtable
Challenges that TLTRs
May Face

Efforts to improve teaching and learning across an institution by using information technology more appropriately and cost-effectively face many barriers, including:

  • Not enough effective communication about how to improve teaching and learning among faculty, librarians, technology support professionals, academic administrators, ...

  • Fragmented effort or resource allocation.

  • Poor or unreliable advice to the chief academic officer or president on budget policy decisions that affect the ways in which teaching and learning can be improved through increased use of information technology.

  • Poor communications between those who have information and those who need it.

  • Fear that technology's role will undermine the personal dimension of teacher-learner and other academic relationships.

  • Also, see:  Dangerous Discussions!

Many institutions have organized Teaching, Learning, and Technology Roundtables (TLTRs) to deal with problems such as these.
