David G. Brown

The 1999 author and editor of three new books,
ALWAYS IN TOUCH, ELECTRONICALLY ENHANCED EDUCATION: A CASE STUDY OF WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY, and INTERACTIVE LEARNING: VIGNETTES FROM AMERICA'S MOST WIRED CAMPUSES, David G. Brown is Wake Forest University Vice President and Dean of the International Center for Computer Enhanced Learning. He chaired the Teaching and Learning Program Committee for EduCause99 and is on the MULTIVERSITY editorial board.

Trained as an economist at Denison and Princeton, Brown is a past chair of the AAHE Board and of the Higher Education Colloquium. Over thirty years he has served as President of Transylvania University, Chancellor of UNC Asheville, and Provost at Miami of Ohio, Drake University, and most recently Wake Forest University. He has authored books on faculty mobility, leadership, strategic planning, and learning with technology; led over 50 workshops for college faculty, deans, and presidents; spoken at the annual meetings of many professional associations; and led teaching and learning seminars in Asia, Europe, and Canada. An active classroom teacher, Brown's current focus is using technology to increase collaborative and interactive learning.
