Rick has 20 years of teaching experience at the University level and for the past 9 years has taught courses in desktop publishing, advertising and public relations. An early adopter of technology, Rick has been one of the leaders on campus in utilizing technology in teaching and learning. Rick has consulted with virtually every department on campus while helping faculty understand the possibilities and logistics of integrating technology in the teaching and learning process. For the past few years Rick has served the TLT Group as a technology consultant, designer, cluster leader and presenter. Rick is a co-developer in the TLTR Clinic idea started at the summer 1999 institute and used in many TLT Group meetings today. Rick has served as a facilitator trainer and is the designer of the TLT Group PowerPoint presenter's template. Rick consults professionally on the use of computers and in the design of
electronic presentations. Faculty consultant for incorporating
technology in teaching and learning campus-wide. Responsibilities include research on new
technologies, training of faculty and execution of new distance learning initiatives. Faculty member in a nationally accredited
department. Responsibilities include teaching Computers for Mass Communication, the
Advertising Copy & Layout, Advertising Concepts & Strategies, Public Relations
Campaigns & Strategies and Public Relations Campaigns. Develop and maintain the Mass
Communication teaching lab, the broadcast writing lab, the photojournalism lab and the Bob
Blazier TV Studio graphics station. Responsibilities include procuring equipment and
software, training and managing graduate student lab consultants, and hardware and
software troubleshooting. Technology consultant and presenter for
The TLT Group. Responsibilities include leading workshops on facilitator training and
incorporating technology into teaching and learning, design of presentation template
for TLT Group speakers, consulting on marketing literature and coordination of
presentation technologies at national and regional meetings. Write a quarterly column on using
technology in education and answer questions submitted by readers. Professional
