She has promoted the concept that technology can be employed as a valuable tool in classroom instruction and has guided MTSU to a position of leadership in this area. MTSU, a regional university with 19,000 students, has 77 technology equipped classrooms for faculty and student use in instruction. The MTSU Office of Information Technology under her leadership has provided, over a five year period, $300,000 in grants to faculty to promote the development of technology-based instructional materials. Lucinda has given numerous presentations and papers nationally and regionally describing campus innovations in information technology. She served on the 1998 Syllabus Advisory Board; Syllabus Press is an education media company serving educators. She has been involved with the TLT Group since 1995, participating as a facilitator, cluster leader, and speaker in several of the project's state-wide and regional workshops and the Summer Institutes. She founded and sponsors the Mid-South Instructional Technology Conference which yearly attracts hundreds of faculty and administrators from across the nation to share knowledge and gain expertise in technology-based education. Lucinda currently serves on the Tennessee Board of Regents System-wide Technology Advisory Committee. She has degrees in
mathematics, a B.S. from Tennessee Technological University and an M.S. from Middle
Tennessee State University. |
