I have completed the fist assignment. It was fairly easy (as I think it is intended to be). I have started reading chapter 3 and plan to do the second assignment this week. I have also made my first post on LiveJournal. |

I have started on assignment 3. I have finished parts 1, 2, and 3. Parts one and two weren't too bad...once I got started. Part three was pretty easy except for the main function. I plan to start part 4 today or tomorrow. Should be fun. |

I have finished the third assignment. The first 5 parts were pretty easy. The sixth part was a little more challenging. I actually made it more complicated than it needed to be. I finally took a break...when I came back it fell together pretty quickly. Plan to, hopefully, validate assignment 3 and start the fourth assignment this week. Hopefully I will get it done fairly quickly...the fifth assignment looks challenging. |

| I have not accomplished much this week. I have managed to print out all my flow charts and code from the third assignment. I will start the fourth assignment tomorrow...hopefully. | |

None...that have anything to do with this class. I have been swamped. Who would of known taking 18 hours and being a TA would be so time consuming! HA |

I have completed assignment 4, but not validated yet. I plan to do that next week. I started assignment 5 and have completed the first 5 questions. They weren't too bad...just a little time consuming. Hopefully I will finish up in the next couple weeks (or possibly sooner).

About where I was last week. I have been extremely busy the last couple of weeks...I now have a lull for a couple of weeks...I plan to finish 5 and give 6 a go. I already have about half of 5 done...so hopefully I'll have a chance. |

I managed to finish the third assignment. Parts 1 through 5 were fairly reasonable. I didn't have too much trouble with them. Part 6 was a little more challenging. I did manage, after several hours, do get the amort() function to work. It was one of those situations where you stare at the code for a really long time...you finally pull yourself away and when you come back it is really easy. Whatever...it's done. I was a little confused in what kind of output I as to have. I was able to use PRINTF and format a table in the console window...the example looked to be in an actual Windows window. I plan to start the fourth assignment this week...and hopefully finish it. I have looked ahead to the fifth assignment...I'm thinking it will be the most time consuming for me. I guess we'll see. |

I have completed assignment two. It was also pretty easy, but somewhat time consuming. The only thing that I really had trouble with was the twos complement ideaology. I probably stared at the book for an hour or more...than it "clicked". I actually found an article on the the internet which helps clarify the concept and gives an easy method for the calculations. "To convert negative hexadecimal numbers to decimal, start by flipping all of the bits--each 0 becomes a 1, and each 1 becomes a 0. The result is the "complement" of the starting number. You’ll need a table to figure out what digits to substitute. You can work this table out for yourself from the one above, but I’ll save you the trouble. 0 F 1 E 2 D 3 C 4 B 5 A 6 9 7 8 Find the number you are complementing in the table, and replace it by the other number on the same line. A432 becomes 5BCD. The second step is to add one. 5BCD becomes 5BCE" |
