Flashlight Workshop Materials

Attending a Flashlight Workshop soon? The most common complaint about past workshops has been, "there should have been more reading and preparation in advance, so we could spend more time in discussion and hands-on work." Here's the answer to that request: the kind of preparatory work you ought to do first. It may take a few hours, even a day, but your predecessors think you'll find it worthwhile!

Materials for Typical Institutional Workshop: Since summer 2002, The TLT Group has made it a practice to create a web site in support of each of its visits to an institution or conference. This tailored web site can become a long-term site for sharing TLT Group and institutional resources. Such a web site was created to support a recent visit by Steve Ehrmann to the University of South Carolina, a new member of The Flashlight Network. As you'll see, Dr. Ehrmann gave two talks and a workshop. The slides and other materials, as well as a variety of other resources, are linked to this web site.

Interested in sponsoring a Flashlight event? Here's more information about the kinds of events we offer and what people have said about them.

Are you part of a TLT Roundtable (or planning group something like a Roundtable)?  You can help your group think about how to accelerate and focus your institution's evaluation of teaching, learning, and technology. The agenda sheet ("task") guides your group through a discussion of evaluation priorities, what you already know, and the kinds of institutional support needed to do such studies.

Interested in publishing your study relating to an educational use of technology? We would consider posting it on this site, of course, but in addition, we have assembled a list of publication opportunities in this field.  If you have corrections or additions to suggest, please send them to Ehrmann@tltgroup.org

P.S. What workshop can succeed without a sense of humor?  We've started collecting evaluator jokes.
