Some projects and departments get an Engagement subscription because it's the least expensive way to use TLT Group consulting or training (if they need more than a day's worth).  Others subscribe at the Network level because they realize that, with the consulting/training help, their department (or whole institution) is likely to make much more use of TLT Group subscriber materials, tools such as Flashlight Online, and workshops.  And still others join in order to take a leadership role; Network members may become involved in grant proposals and early beta testing of new products and materials.

With Engagement affiliation, everyone at your institution can benefit from:

  • Two days of consulting/training from TLT Group staff and Senior Associates; get more days at substantial discounts from regular rates. (Institutions have used as many as 150 consulting days a year; this 8-minute narrated slideshow mentions just a few ways in which past subscribers have used our consulting and suggests ways to pay for a subscription.)  Training/consulting is usually delivered through a mix of on-site visits and online interaction.  Naming just a few possibilities -- we can:

    • deliver a keynote for your faculty institute;

    • plan the faculty training for your next grant proposal involving educational uses of technology;

    • offer train-the-trainer workshops to help faculty learn to use student evidence to improve teaching

    • help you evaluate your current institutional strategies and resources for improving teaching and learning and develop new strategies that reach and engage more faculty;

    • reduce conflict and overlap by helping you organize a TLT Roundtable and a virtual teaching, learning and technology center;

    • help your faculty evaluate and improve their hybrid courses, blended courses, online courses...

If you'd like to include 5, 50 or more days in your subscription, contact us (info @ tltgroup.org) about prices.  Option: If your institution finds it doesn't need some of those consulting hours, it can carry the over for one more year or exchange them for free registrations for the Online Institute workshops of your choice.

  • Our goal is to help your faculty, staff and students do productive and influential studies.  To that end we provide a handbook on how to do such studies, materials for your workshops, online workshops we offer directly for your users.

        What makes our Online Institute workshops unique:

    * Workshops are designed to assist the participants, both leaders and registrants, to improve not only their uses of technology, but also expand their grasp of current issues and conflicts, and invite collaboration

    *Participants can interact with other subscribers as well as with our panelists during live online events.

    * Themes of these intensive training sessions include strategies for improving teaching; information literacy; general education; evaluation and assessment, access for people with disabilities; and others.

    * Our unique perspective can help you convert “Dangerous Discussions” on your campus into constructive conversations focused on realistic solutions.

  • Spreading the word: We have materials to help you spread the word to your colleagues about the subscription's benefits.

  • Topical mailings describing resources available to everyone at your institution.  These updates are suitable for distribution to other people on your campus. (We’ll send updates directly to the primary liaison and to anyone else at your institution who wants to be added to this service.)

  • Discounts on all TLT Group services, publications and events as well as on memberships in selected other organizations such as MERLOT, EASI, and the HBCU Faculty Development Network.

  • Most importantly, access to a unique perspective on improving teaching and learning with technology and making the best of too many options and too much information; we provide a view of what’s really possible and desirable underneath the usual hype.
